My short weekend get-a-way to Bogota, Colombia was probably the most spirit-filled, adrenaline-rushed, physically and mentally charged trip I've taken...this year. lol In such a short time, I was able to do and see so much, yet there's still so much more to see of this Latin-Caribbean nation. A lot of people look forward to going back home and sleeping in their own bed when they go on holiday. I didn't want to leave. I felt at home. I felt accepted. I felt like I was a part of the bigger picture. The genuine kindness of the people. The food. The spirit of the land. All of it reset my soul and spirit, which was previously wound up from the stress and rat-race of life. I know a weekend isn't long enough to know an entire place, but it was long enough for me to know that I love Colombia. I will return. This place is special to me. As I rode in the back of my taxi to the airport, I snapped this photo of two ladies waiting for the bus. The sign behind them is perfectly fitting for how I feel about this beautiful country. God bless Colombia!
